What’s included with motorhome hire (and what you should bring)

Hiring a motorhome should feel simple from the moment you pick up the keys, and we try to make it exactly that. That’s why we understand that a fully equipped vehicle lets you focus on the trip, not the logistics (after all, where’s the fun in that?).

If you’re wondering what’s already covered and what you still need to pack, here’s a precise breakdown based on what Swift Go actually provides.

What’s included with Swift Go motorhome hire

Swift Go motorhomes are designed to be ready to go. You’re not starting from scratch, you’re stepping into a complete, self-contained setup ready for you to make your own.

Fully equipped kitchen (no need to bring cookware)

A common question is whether you need to bring your own kitchen gear. The answer is no.

Every Swift Go motorhome comes with:

  • Pans and cooking equipment
  • Crockery and plates
  • Glassware
  • Cutlery and utensils

In addition, you’ll have:

  • Fridge-freezer
  • Cooker
  • Kettle
  • Toaster
  • Microwave (not fitted in campervans)

You can cook proper meals without packing a single kitchen item, which is exactly how it should be when travelling light.

Living comforts and tech

Swift Go leans into modern convenience, not just the basics:

  • Smart TV
  • On-board Wi-Fi (UK only, dependent on 4G coverage)

This gives you flexibility. You can unplug, but you’re not forced to. Its your trip, your way, wherever you may choose to end up.

Bathroom and hot water

Each motorhome includes a fully functional washroom:

  • Toilet
  • Shower
  • Hot water via combi boiler

This is a key upgrade from traditional camping. You’re not relying on campsite facilities unless you want to and it’s all at your convenience.

Outdoor setup

To make the most of your surroundings, you’ll also get a camping table and chairs a standard so that you can outdoor the outdoors just as much as the motorhome you choose to travel in. Simple, but essential for outdoor meals or relaxing at your pitch.

Utilities and practical equipment

Everything needed to run the motorhome day-to-day is included:

  • Power cable
  • Gas bottles
  • Fresh water hose
  • Starter pack of WC chemicals (typically lasts 1 week)
  • Vehicle levelling blocks

These are the items first-time hirers often overlook, so we’ve got you covered from the off.

Bedding and towels: what to know

This is one of the few areas where you have a choice.

Many customers prefer to bring their own bedding and towels to keep a little comfort from home. If you’d rather travel lighter, Swift Go can supply them for a one-off cost:

  • £50 per double set
  • £25 per single set

This flexibility works well depending on your trip length and packing constraints, but it’s entirely down to your preference.

What you should still bring

Even with a fully equipped motorhome, there are still a few essentials that come down to personal preference and trip style.

Food and basics

The kitchen is ready, but you’ll need to stock it, so it’s a wise move to bring things like:

  • Groceries
  • Cooking oil, salt, and condiments
  • Tea, coffee, snacks

It’s a good idea to plan a supermarket stop before setting off or near your first destination.

Clothing (pack strategically)

It may go without saying, but clothing can be a real game changer when travelling. Motorhome storage is efficient but limited, so we’d suggest considering:

  • Comfortable everyday clothes
  • Warm layers
  • Waterproofs
  • Practical footwear

Toiletries and personal items

Nice and simple, it’s a good idea to bring your usual essentials:

  • Toiletries
  • Towels (if not hiring)
  • Toilet roll (check compatibility if unsure)

Entertainment and extras

While you have a TV and Wi-Fi, it’s still worth bringing:

  • Books or games
  • Chargers and power banks

Especially useful if you’re staying off-grid or travelling with family.

Bikes

Many guests also choose to bring their bicycles to make the most of local cycle routes, seaside paths, and countryside trails during their motorhome adventure. Our motorhomes are fitted with a rear bike rack that can safely carry up to two bicycles, making it easy to explore beyond the campsite without needing to drive everywhere.

We recommend bringing bike locks, helmets, and any accessories you may need for your trip, and checking that your bicycles are securely fitted before setting off each day.

Documents and driving essentials

Last but by no means least, don’t overlook the basics:

  • Driving licence
  • Booking confirmation
  • Any required insurance documents
  • Navigation (sat nav or offline maps as backup)

Summary

Swift Go motorhomes are genuinely “ready to go.” The kitchen is fully kitted out, the living space is comfortable, and the practical equipment is already handled.

That means your focus shifts from “what do I need to bring?” to “what do I want to bring to make this trip mine?”
